Snow Globe By: Alex Earl, the polar bear, was tired of looking at nothing but slushy snow and frozen ice. There was slushy snow as far as he could see. Earl told his mother,” I’m tired of this snow and I am going to a place where I can see something different. “You are a small polar bear,” said his mother. Size didn’t matter to Earl. He said his good-byes and headed off to a different part of the Arctic that he hadn’t ever been. All of a sudden Earl began to scream,” I wish I could go somewhere, where there wasn’t any snow. He pondered about what a polar bear would do without snow or frozen ice. I’m going to wish again. So he said,” I wish I could go to a place where there is snow but not as much of it. Maybe I could go to a place where Santa and his busy elves are. No, oh I know a place that is in a normal person’s home around Christmas time because there is snow at Christmas. The wind began to pick up, blowing snow around Earl. During this chilly blizzard he closed his eyes and a minute later he felt the temperature increase slightly with warmth. When he opened his eyes he couldn’t believe what he saw. Several live snowman, penguins, and little men were standing round him. When Earl saw those creatures he thought they all belonged in the chilly temperature. While he imagined this, Earl was being pulled by these little men to a place where he didn’t recognize. These strong but very short little men pulled Earl to a building named All Dreams and Wishes Come True. Once Earl went inside he heard singing. “This is the place to come and dream, come and dream, where you come and dream.” The penguins were working and snowmen were touring visitors. Earl looking around in amazement began to have an exciting moment full of weather that was not snow. He was in a snow globe. Earl thought this adventure was real, but that all he could think of with creatures like this. Earl’s wish came true and now Earl was where he had wanted to be all along! As time went on Earl began to feel as though he didn’t belong here. He wanted to go back to his mother and family. So, he wished he could go back to the way everything was before. So Earl did the same thing he did before. I wish I could go home to my loving and caring family and playful friends. He learned a lesson in this journey to be thankful for where I live and what I have! After he finished wishing wind began to pick up again. So full of joy he could hardly what for what was happening. Waiting and waiting for this moment of finally seeing his family and friends again would soon be here! The wind stopped and snow began to fall. Earl was not back where he wanted to be. Disappointed he tried his wish again. Wind picked up and the same thing once again happened, but this time he was where he wanted to be. Finally, Earl made it back home with his family and friends. Now that he was back with his family and friends Earl will never wish a wish like that again.
When he saw his mother looking down at him he was in shock. His mother asked,” How as your nap honey?” Earl was in disbelief but said,’’ Fine and ignored the rest of the comment that didn’t seem right to him at all. At least Earl learned a lesson be thankful for what you have and where you are, and NOT what up don’t!
